Nestled in the heart of the Wynwood Art District, Cafeina is singular. A joint lounge, gallery, tapas-style restaurant and event space, the eclectic hotspot layers art upon nightlife upon celebrated cuisine for something completely different.
Then there’s the bar, serving up artisanal cocktails like Café con Leche Martinis and the spicy Hot Passion—fresh, unexpected, divine. Bartenders use ingredients like Jamaican coffee spirits and chamomile flowers, and glasses are swirled with exotic bitters. Sitting at the dark wood counter will put you in prime people-watching position: a plus, as the crowd feels as funky-cool as the interior itself.
Upstairs features the Mezzanine, a 1920’s inspired speakeasy that features Gin and Scotch based artisanal cocktails by specialized mixologists. This space is ideal for small private events that desire a truly unique atmosphere for their guests. Outdoors, underneath light-latticed-tree-branches, a DJ spins an eclectic mix on an authentic vinyl turntable. (Tired feet will relish comfy hammock beds, perfect for a quick respite from the dance floor.)
If you find yourself craving a tasty bite along with your cocktail, definitely try the gourmet tapas, perfect for sharing. The culinary creations, designed by Chef Diego Pasqualicchio, feature New American and Latin infused cuisine.
And you can’t leave without visiting the gallery, which features a rotating collection of drawings, paintings, photographs, installations and electronic media from local to international artists.
